Public Sector

Public bodies run on policy, records and process. When those drift out of step with how the work is actually done, the cost shows up as audit findings, repeated incidents and staff time lost to workarounds.

Orchard helps municipalities, health organizations, Crown corporations and other public bodies find what is failing in how they manage information and decisions, fix it, and leave their own staff able to keep improving it.

We bring the continuous improvement discipline of regulated, high-consequence sectors, scaled to the size of your organization:

  • A principal on every engagement, from the first conversation to the final deliverable
  • Documented, traceable work that stands up to audit
  • Knowledge transfer built in, so the capability stays with your team

Information and Records Management

We assess how information moves through your organization and redesign it so that records are findable, controlled and reviewed on a cycle. That includes getting more out of the SharePoint environment you already have.

Safe AI Adoption

Readiness assessment, policy and guardrails, and staff training, so that AI tools are governed, auditable and consistently reliable before they touch public records or decisions. We plan with Canadian data residency in mind, and we do not take on AI work whose purpose is to cut headcount.

Continuous Improvement Programs

A structured way to report problems, trend them, find root causes and confirm that the fix worked, sized for your organization and owned by your staff.

What this looks like in practice

For a healthcare and social services organization, we rebuilt governance documentation and document control in plain language, then trained and mentored the organization’s own governance lead to run it. The organization does not need outside support to maintain it.

For a Canadian transportation authority, we evaluated workforce dispatch processes, interviewed the people who do the work, and produced the functional requirements that guided the IT modernization that followed.
